    Signs of hypertension in women

Experts say that in women a disease such as hypertension is really more severe than in the male half of the population, while the symptoms are slightly different, and the pain is much stronger. And it's all about the female body itself and the hormones that cause such differences during the course of the disease. The causes of many ailments, in particular, diseases of the heart and vascular system, as well as the risk of a stroke, very often lie precisely in the fact that a person has arterial hypertension.

    Causes of hypertension

The reasons that can lead to hypertension, if we talk about their number, then there are many of them.

But one related to the main factors is hereditary predisposition.

And here, as people say, you can’t get away, if close relatives suffer from this disease, then it is possible that the hereditary factor will be transferred from parents to children. Doctors have an opinion that most often this predisposition is transmitted through the maternal line.

Now let's turn to the role of stress in our lives and note that depression, emotional overload, troubles of a different nature, worries, and so on do not have the best effect on the body as a whole. In particular, these factors lead to increased pressure. But it's not a secret for anyone that it is the female body that is more emotional, prone to all kinds of experiences, nervous breakdowns, and so on. Women are more likely to experience mood swings, emotional outbursts and, as a result, high blood pressure, and these are the main, of course, not the only causes of hypertension in the weaker sex. In the case when the hereditary factor is not the cause of the disease, then, perhaps, hypertension is in the nature of an acquired disease, or the reasons lie in the intake of contraceptives containing substances that lead to malfunctions of many systems in the body.

The causes of the disease in the female population are often due to changes in hormonal levels during the period of menopause - menopause.

The danger of hypertension is that it can lead to serious, serious consequences and even become the cause of death - the death of a person, even at a young age. Typical complications of hypertension are heart failure, stroke, aortic aneurysm (a disease that ruptures the thinned, dilated aorta, the main heart artery, leading to instant death), and retinal hemorrhage.

Symptoms of the disease depend on the degree

Hypertension is divided into three main degrees - mild, moderate and severe. Naturally, each degree of hypertension has characteristic signs, while the main symptoms in women differ little from those in men. Although there are those that are more inherent in the female body or, conversely, are observed in the male half of the population.

Next, the symptoms of the disease will be described and a comparative description of the differences for the male and female groups will be given, and for the convenience of the reader, this will be presented as a list:

    1. A distinctive sign of hypertension is a change in the shade of the skin - they can turn pale or, conversely, suddenly acquire a reddish color. Moreover, in the representatives of the weaker sex, the face often becomes pale, but in men, on the contrary, purple-red.
    2. With increased pressure in women less often than in men, when changing the position of the body when getting up from a prone position, a strong pulsation occurs, and the heart rate also increases.
    3. It should be noted that very rarely, but still, shortness of breath can be observed with high blood pressure, but in men this symptom occurs more often than in women. Difficulty breathing initially occurs as a reaction to exercise. Gradually, when the disease passes from a mild to an intermediate stage, shortness of breath may occur after a short and insignificant physical activity, and in severe hypertension this condition may occur when the patient is resting.
    4. It was also noted that the females are more likely to experience nosebleeds. Nosebleeds can occur with headaches, although they often occur regardless of whether the head hurts or not. After the blood comes out through the nose, the patient's condition improves markedly.
    5. Signs of arterial hypertension - persistent high blood pressure, such as nausea, vomiting, occur more often in the male category of citizens, but women in this regard are a little stronger and therefore, with increased pressure, these symptoms occur very rarely.
    6. Edema of the upper and lower extremities is more often observed in the female sex, as well as increased irritability.

Let's look at the symptoms that are inherent in people with hypertension, regardless of gender, and they are:

    • Headaches of varying intensity. Generally, the higher the blood pressure, the more severe the headache, especially in the back of the head. In addition, patients note that the pain is similar to that which resembles that the hoop squeezed the skull tightly.
    • With a sharp change in body position, twinkling stars, which people call "flies", may appear in front of the eyes.
    • There is tinnitus.
    • An attack of hypertension causes increased sweating.
    • Causes of pain in the heart - it can be jumps in blood pressure to high values.
    • When the pressure rises, a person's performance decreases, he tends to sleep and confusion is observed. Although it should be noted that during an attack, a person, despite the fact that he wants to sleep heavily, cannot fall asleep, therefore it is appropriate to attribute one more distinguishing feature to the symptoms - insomnia.
    • A patient diagnosed with hypertension during an attack loses his appetite and the person is unable to even think about food.
    • There is a feeling of anxiety.

    Characteristics

The symptoms listed above have some characteristic features. So, for example, a headache happens spontaneously and regardless of the time of day - at the end of the working day or in the morning when a person wakes up. Therefore, this cause is very often confused with signs of ordinary overwork.

Meanwhile, an important characteristic of the onset of headache in hypertension is a pronounced feeling of heaviness in the back of the head, where the back of the head is located, while the person feels a strong pulsation in this area.

Usually, pain of this nature intensifies when the head position changes - turning or tilting, and the pain syndrome is more strongly felt when coughing or other sudden movements. Experts say that there is no direct dependence on the indicators of high blood pressure and the intensity of headaches.

Now consider the signs of hypertension associated with vision. It has already been mentioned above that when changing the position of the body, “flies” appear before the eyes. Patients describe this sign of deterioration in visual clarity in different ways. Some claim that a veil appears before the eyes, others speak of the presence of blurry vision and fuzzy perception of images.

The sure signs that a hypertensive patient has heart failure are persistent swelling of the lower and upper extremities, and swelling of the face may also be noted. This condition is explained by the fact that in the human body there is a retention of sodium salts or excess fluid, or it may be due to the intake of medications. Of course, all this takes place against the background of violations of the genitourinary system.

And, finally, irritability, to which women are so prone, very often leads to the fact that the pressure rises sharply, and headaches become prolonged, severe and rather painful.

It is impossible to completely cure hypertension if it has passed into the middle or severe stage.
However, it is possible to significantly alleviate the condition of a person, as a result of which working capacity will increase, mood will improve in our time, using all kinds of means and methods, of which there are many. It is important to remember that a person’s health depends on himself, and if you learn to avoid stressful situations, not to succumb to negative emotions, then the pressure will be in order for both men and women.
